OSLO, Norway ? Norwegian hospital officials say four Britons attacked by a polar bear in the Arctic have been operated on and will be transferred home as soon as possible.

University Hospital in Tromsoe spokeswoman Marit Einejord says none of the injuries are life threatening, and the four are resting after surgery.

Einejord said Saturday that two of the victims had severe head injuries, while the other injuries were less serious.

A 17-year-old British boy was killed by the polar bear in the attack Friday in the Svalbard archipelago off Norway's northern coast. The bear was later shot by one of the 13 campers on the remote Arctic island.
